Westminster High School Marching Band Scholarship


The WESTMINSTER HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND SCHOLARSHIP was established in May of 2007 by Lynn A. and Paul M. Campbell as an incentive to students of Westminster High school to join and remain in the Marching Band and to encourage and reward academic excellence. The Scholarship will provide one or two scholarships each year to graduating Seniors at Westminster High School who:

1. Have served at least three years in the Westminster High School Marching Band;

2. Have a Scholastic record of B or better;

3. Have shown a fifty percent improvement over three years in their ability to use their instrument or Color Guard equipment;

4. Have helped motivate others to succeed in the Westminster High School band;

5. Have encouraged at least six students to join the marching band;

6. Have signed an agreement to mentor and train new Westminster High School Marching Band members for one week during any of the Summer Band Camps.

Applications will be reviewed by the Westminster High School Band Directors and the Westminster High School Instrumental Music Boosters Board of Directors whose recommendations will be presented to the board of Directors of the Community Foundation for final approval. The scholarship(s) will be presented at the end of season banquet in May of each year. The Westminster High School Band Directors may request an exception to the eligibility criteria by providing justification to the interested parties.
