The purpose of this fund is to honor the memory, life, and work of Debbie Peregoy, a loving wife and mother who passed away in 2006 from breast cancer.
Debbie was a hairdresser and businesswoman in the North Carroll High School area who was an avid supporter of Special Olympics, and was devoted to supporting her children, Brett, Danielle, and Darrin in football, field hockey, and lacrosse.
The Debbie Peregoy Memorial Scholarship is open to any graduating senior at North Carroll High or the Career and Tech Center with a 2.5 G.P.A. or higher. The interested student must exhibit good character, heart, and work ethic, which Debbie exemplified. A letter of recommendation is required from students who are applying.
Alex Griffith, who initiated this Scholarship Fund wrote, “Mrs. Debbie was to me the most loving person I’ve ever met in my 17 years. She always had such a big heart and she spread her love through her personality and smile. Debbie was the person who would always welcome you in from the start with open arms. You could never be in a bad or sad mood around her because she was always smiling and or laughing. I know she touched me and everyone who ever met her; she was and still is a loving and loved person. It is sad to think that she is gone but it’s good to know she is cutting hair up in Heaven. So I just wanted to start this scholarship in order to keep her loving legacy alive in the North Carroll area where she has touched so many people.”
“…She touched our lives
in countless ways
We are most thankful
for the days
She was with us to love
and treasure
Giving us memories
beyond measure.
Our comfort is knowing no better place she could be
Than in God’s loving
arms for eternity.”
