Communication disorders are among
the most common disabilities in the
United States. A childs overall future and
success can be improved greatly through
the early identification of communication
disorders, establishment of their causes,
and subsequent intervention (American
Speech-Language Hearing Association,
2006). The ability to communicate is one
of the most critical aspects in life. It is
estimated that approximately 5-10% of the
population is affected by a communication
disorder.
SPEECH PATHways, established in 1999 by
Kimberly A. Bell, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a
private speech and language pathology
practice serving children with special needs.
Many children and families are unable to
access private speech-language pathology
services due to insurance restrictions,
financial constraints, policy exclusions, lack
of insurance, large medical bills and other
needed therapy services. Our vision is to ensure that the children of
Carroll County and the surrounding areas
have access to high-quality private speech language
pathology services and programs.
